Smartco Projects combines specialist welding, machining and one-off fabrication to return damaged or unavailable metal components to useful service.
A large part of Smartco's work starts with a damaged component that is expensive, unavailable or simply too slow to replace. Welding, machining and fabrication are combined as needed to get the part usable again.
Aluminium, stainless steel, cast iron, magnesium, titanium and brazing.
Explore weldingTurning, milling, cutting, gear cutting and post-repair machining.
Explore machiningOne-off components, modifications and custom assemblies rather than production runs.
Explore fabricationSmartco's published examples include gearbox casings, manifolds, shafts, motor housings, bicycle frames, industrial mechanisms and unavailable replacement components.
Identify the break, wear, distortion or unavailable component.
Clean, machine, jig or cut back to sound material where required.
Weld, machine or fabricate the missing material and geometry.
Machine mating surfaces, bores, threads or dimensions back to requirement.
Smartco states that overnight turnaround is available for critical breakdowns where possible. One published industrial example compares a 12-hour repaired-shaft downtime against a four-week imported OEM lead time.
See the repair explorerTell Smartco what broke, what material you think it is, what the part does and how urgent it is. The workshop can then advise whether repair, machining or fabrication is the sensible route.
